Three Years Ago Today

Three years ago to the day I posted my first blog in this space. Well, to be honest, I am not sure when it all started, but by the records I have it was the first post.

It has grown and mutated. Some of you have been here since the early stages. Allow me to say thank you for sticking around.

I have my good days and I have my bad days and I put as much effort as a man can put into it and still have a healthy life.

If I was a bachelor, taking up ridiculous amounts of time blogging about a team that hasn't been good for a while would be borderline acceptable, but for a married man it is borderline insane at times.

My wife allows the insanity. She is truly amazing. She keeps everything going, even when I am busy mashing keys or tweeting about the latest Raiders news, she is there supporting me. She is the hidden formula that keeps this thing afloat and she's one heck of a blogger herself.

No, she isn't much of a football fan, but she knows it is a part of who I am. So thanks for letting me share a part of myself. The Raiders will ascend once again to the elite in the NFL. When that happens, just remember who was blogging when times were tough.

    Have visited the blog for a while and am glad to have made your acquaintance through twitter. Your work is appreciated and enjoyed - keep it up. Just think how fun it will be when the Raiders are on top again.

Oakland Raiders' Studs and Duds From Preseason Week 1

[embed]http://gty.im/484069738[/embed] The Oakland Raiders finally look like a competitive football team again. That should be the biggest takeaway from their preseason rout of the St. Louis Rams. Quarterback Derek Carr and the offense looked significantly improved from a year ago, thanks in large part to some of the studs listed below. The starting defense was still a little shaky, but there were still a few bright spots. Overall, the Raiders can feel good about their first live action of the year, especially since there appeared to be no significant injuries to come out of it. Studs Rodney Hudson Of all general manager Reggie McKenzie's offseason acquisitions, he committed the most money to center Rodney Hudson.
