Raiders in PRIMETIME

Rejoice Raider Nation! The Raiders received two primetime games. One is opening weekend hosting the Chargers, wearing throwback uniforms. The Raiders wearing throwbacks should be interesting, considering the uniform has hardly been altered. Silver numbers on white jerseys?

The other game is at the amazing new stadium the Cowboys are moving into. If you haven't taken a chance to look at this place, it is unbelievable. <url>http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/</url>

I wonder if Al Davis and Jerry Jones will sit in the same box together. Might be an interesting Thanksgiving gesture.

Considering how terrible the Raiders have been in primetime over the last few seasons, maybe you aren't rejoicing. I can't help but rejoice because finally I can care about a game on Thanksgiving.

I've heard a lot of people ask, "Why do the terrible Raiders get two primetime games?" They note the primetime games are also very high ratings games.

The reason, is because you are a Raider Hater or you are a member of the Raider Nation. It is black and white. The NFL keeps giving Raiders prime slots because you love or hate them, either way you probably tune in to see them kick ass or get their ass kicked. The ratings are dictating how they schedule. I think the Thanksgiving game could be a huge for ratings.Just maybe crushing the Chargers on Monday night will earn us the respect we have lost in the past six years.

Looking Forward: Raiders 2012 Free Agents

Khalif Barnes - Weakest link on the offensive line with youth behind him. Raiders will look for for other options. It's not as if there aren't a dozen Khalif's on the street each year. Darryl Blackstock - Was a Chuck Bresnahan guy, but found a home on special teams. Would have to make the team as a reserve LB and special teams guy next training camp. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back as a camp body or gone entirely. Kyle Boller - Hue didn't have enough confidence to turn to Boller. Quarterback Derek Carr and the offense looked significantly improved from a year ago, thanks in large part to some of the studs listed below. The starting defense was still a little shaky, but there were still a few bright spots. Overall, the Raiders can feel good about their first live action of the year, especially since there appeared to be no significant injuries to come out of it.
