On the Radio: Talking Colt Brennan

Today at 7:15 p.m. Pacific Time, I'll be joining the Sports Animals on ESPN 1420 Honolulu, Hawaii to talk Colt Brennan and possibly Samson Satele. Tune In!

Satele and Brennan played together at the University of Hawai'i during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Satele attending from 2002-2006 and Brennan from 2005-2007.

Brennan was added as a fifth quarterback because Bruce Gradkowski has a groin injury and Charlie Frye has an injured wrist. Brennan should see time in the preseason game on Thursday with the third string offense.

The third quarterback position is up for grabs, but Brennan would have to beat out front-runner Kyle Boller and last year's third quarterback Charlie Frye.

If Brennan doesn't make the team, the extra NFL game tape gives him a better chance to catch on with another team or in the UFL.

    If you're right about the time, it has to be Bobby Curran you're be talking to instead of the 'Sports Animals' who are usually on the air late in the afternoon. I'll be listening. Thanks for the heads-up.

    ? 4:15 PM Hawaii time puts me right in the center of the afternoon show with the Sports Animals. I'd hope the producer would know which show he is booking talent for. Thanks for the comment.

    If you read this before you go on the air, I'd be interested to know if Brennan is an Al Davis kind of QB from an intangible perspective i.e. Rich Gannon

    No problem. Didn't get a chance to touch on your question, but my opinion is that Al Davis weakness is taking intangibles into account. He doesn't. Gannon was Gruden and Bruce Allen's guy. He won, so Davis rolled with him.

    I enjoyed the informative interview and I gotta say, after a brief pause, you answered the question of "Can Brennan make the team?" as well as you possibly could given your listening audience was the whole state of Hawaii lol. If Brennan does indeed end up sticking around, I would love for Bobby Curran (morning guy) to have you on. Nice work, Chris!

Oakland Raiders' Studs and Duds From Preseason Week 1

[embed]http://gty.im/484069738[/embed] The Oakland Raiders finally look like a competitive football team again. That should be the biggest takeaway from their preseason rout of the St. Louis Rams. Quarterback Derek Carr and the offense looked significantly improved from a year ago, thanks in large part to some of the studs listed below.
